Lithium Titanate (LTO) Powders

Anode Powders for Lithium-ion Batteries

Lithium Titanate (“LTO”) anode powders, also known as Lithium Titanium Oxide (Li4Ti5O12), stand out for their exceptional electrochemical stability, which translates to impressive longevity. Their spinel structure allows them to handle rapid charging and discharging cycles (high rate capability) without degrading significantly. This makes them ideal for applications like power tools and electric vehicles that demand frequent bursts of power.

Safety is another key advantage, as LTO exhibits minimal risk of fire or explosion even under extreme conditions. This makes them suitable for safety-critical applications like large-scale energy storage. LTO also functions effectively across a wider range of temperatures compared to traditional graphite anodes. Furthermore, LTO batteries boast extended cycle life, lasting for thousands of charge/discharge cycles with minimal capacity loss. Lastly, LTO approaches 100% coulombic efficiency, minimizing energy waste within the battery.

NANOMYTE® LTO Powders

NEI offers two variations of Lithium Titanate. Our NANOMYTE® BE-10 consists of ultrafine and uniform LTO particles capable of high rates, and NANOMYTE® BE-10C is our LTO with a 3% carbon coating. Both powders are produced and stored under inert conditions so as to maintain a pristine particle surface. Our LTO manufacturing process is versatile and allows modifications to the composition, morphology, and particle size. As a result, the material can be tailored to meet the needs of the specific application. Both of our LTO materials are also available as a cast electrode sheet (tape / film).
