Lithium Manganese Nickel Oxide (LMNO) Powders

Cathode Powders for Lithium-ion Batteries

Lithium Manganese Nickel Oxide (“LMNO,” LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4) is a high-voltage spinel cathode material that offers a compelling alternative for next-generation lithium-ion batteries. Its rigid spinel crystal structure provides excellent structural stability and cycling performance, minimizing capacity fade to ensure an extended lifespan. By operating at a high voltage plateau, LMNO significantly increases energy density compared to traditional LFP chemistries, while the inclusion of nickel enhances its specific capacity. Ultimately, LMNO presents a promising avenue for high-durability, high-capacity energy storage, making it well-suited for electric vehicles and other demanding long-cycle-life applications.

NANOMYTE® LMNO Powders

NEI supplies two Lithium Manganese Nickel Oxide cathode powders. NANOMYTE® SP-10 is our uncoated LMNO powder produced by a novel process that leads to exceptional cycling stability. NANOMYTE® SP-10C is our SP-10 LMNO powder with a 1 wt% LATP coating on the surface of the particles. NEI’s manufacturing process is versatile and allows modifications to the composition, morphology, and particle size. As a result, these materials can be tailored to meet the needs of your specific application. Notably, our LMNO materials are also available as cast electrode sheets (tapes / films).
